SEMIGROUPS AND THE FOUNDATIONS OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

                

                 In this talk we shall discuss some of the ways in which semigroup theory has interacted with the foundations of computer science and how some of these interactions have let to considerable advances in the theory of semigroups.
